At Desert Hills, we accept admission to our programs from a variety of referral sources that are located throughout the community. Since admission to a residential treatment program can be a difficult time for everyone who is involved in the process, the entire admissions staff works closely with referral sources, providing them with the information they need to get their patients the mental health services they need. One of our professional admissions staff will handle your referral throughout the intake process, from the initial contact all the way through to the follow up. Additionally, they will be sure to keep the client and the referral source informed of the status of the referral.
If you are referring a patient to one of our treatment programs you will need to fax or email our referral form (click here to download) to our admissions staff, which includes the following information:
- All demographic information about the child or adolescent
- The reason for the referral to our program
- Complete insurance information
Once all of this information has been received, an assessment will be scheduled for the client and his or her family to meet with one of our assessors. This is usually done within 24 hours of receiving the referral form. However, if there is an empty bed and the referral is one of priority, the assessment will be scheduled immediately and information will be submitted to the patient’s insurance as soon as possible.
